A 19-year-old man, previously caught on video aggressively demanding money from motorists in exchange for unsolicited windshield wiping services, was apprehended by Manila police for carrying an improvised firearm and live ammunition.

The arrest took place during a routine patrol along Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila, as per Inquirer.
According to the Manila Police District (MPD), officers from the J. Bocobo Police Community Precinct spotted the suspect inside a pedicab on Tuesday morning.
Observing suspicious behavior, they approached him and found him tinkering with a metal object, later identified as a homemade firearm known as a “pen gun.”

It was loaded with a 9mm round, and the suspect was unable to present any legal documents for the weapon.
Authorities identified the suspect as a resident of Port Area, Manila, and an alleged member of the Batang City Jail group.
He is now facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 10591, also known as the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, in connection with the election-related gun ban under Batasang Pambansa No. 881.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin praised the officers involved, emphasizing the importance of proactive policing in ensuring public safety.
“I commend our personnel for their vigilance and quick response, ending a clear threat to public safety. This reflects our commitment to proactive policing and crime prevention,” Aberin said.
He commended their swift action in neutralizing a potential threat, reinforcing law enforcement’s commitment to crime prevention.

When police authorities came to inspect what was inside the suitcase, they found a bloated body of a minor girl. According to the police, the body was in fetal position, clothes were intact, but wounds were found on her body.
