The incident, which also left another worker injured, occurred during what appeared to be a work-related dispute.

According to reports, the victim was rushed to the Cotabato Regional Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest and multiple injuries to other parts of his body.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities revealed that the suspect allegedly held a grudge against the engineer, which may have been linked to work-related conflicts.

The exact nature of their disagreement remains under investigation.

Another construction worker was also injured in the incident, though the severity of his wounds has not been disclosed.

Investigators are now gathering statements from witnesses and colleagues to determine what led to the deadly attack.

Law enforcement officials were able to immediately apprehend the suspect.
