According to Pia Arcangel's report, the family of the victims and the owner of the truck will be facing each other in the barangay to settle the incident.

In the Philippines, settlement for injuries is often handled through mediation, starting with informal discussions or intervention by barangay officials. The Katarungang Pambarangay system helps resolve disputes at the community level before they escalate to legal cases.

If no agreement is reached, the injured party may file a criminal or civil case, depending on the severity of the injury. Criminal cases can lead to imprisonment or fines, while civil cases focus on monetary compensation. Legal proceedings may still allow mediation, but the final outcome depends on the parties' willingness to negotiate and the applicable laws.
