- A 43-year-old man was arrested by Barbosa policemen in Caloocan City for allegedly taking advantage of his own child

- According to the police records, the arrested man was charged with sexual assault for the crime that he committed to his 15-year-old daughter in Cebu back in 2023

- He was reportedly drunk at the time of the crime and went inside a room which he said he thought was theirs

- The man, according to the police, hugged the person inside the room which happened to be his daughter

The victim then reported the incident to her grandmother and the grandmother told it to the mother (wife of the suspect) of the child.

The wife filed the complaint against her husband who, according to a report in GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' immediately went hiding in Sampaloc, Manila.

After police surveillance, he was arrested in a building in Bagumbong, Caloocan City.

According to the suspect, it's been a year since he and his wife made love, that was why he was able to commit the crime.

However, he denied completely taking advantage of his daughter, and cleared that he might've had touched her and most likely some private parts which he was unsure of.

He also said he had consistent communication with his family and had been sending them money.

Meanwhile, he will remain in Barbosa Police Station until the release of the Committment Order from the court.

In another viral local report, a suitcase containing a dead body of a minor girl was found floating on a river in San Jose, Del Monte, Bulacan. According to a report by Bea Pinlac in GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' residents of the area have been complaining about the foul odor coming from it. When police authorities came to inspect what was inside the suitcase, they found a bloated body of a minor girl. According to the police, the body was in fetal position, clothes were intact, but wounds were found on her body.
