A man was arrested after shooting a nine-year-old boy in the chest, who was one of his son's enemies, in Navotas City, Unang Balita of GMA News reported.

“Nagkaroon ng away 'yung mga bata. Nagkaroon ng suntukan at tadyakan. Isang bata nagsumbong sa magulang, sa tatay actually at saka sa mga barkada ng tatay niya,” said Police Lieutenant Jose Tamingo of the Navotas Police.

Because of this, the suspect and two of his friends got together to fight the two enemies of his son, and the children ended up fighting on Palengke Avenue.

“Kinompronta ‘yung dalawang bata. Bumunot ng baril 'yung magulang ng nakaaway nila. Tapos 'yung pangunahing witness natin tinutukan sa ulo. Tapos yumuko lang 'yung bata. Pumutok 'yung baril, ang tinamaan 'yung victim natin ngayon, tinamaan sa dibdib,” Tamingo said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital.

After the police conducted a manhunt operation on the three suspects, they tracked down the gunman at his house after the minor who allegedly pointed the gun at him first pointed it at him.

The suspect did not resist arrest.

“‘Yung anak ko po umuwing umiiyak. Siyempre po bilang tatay, nabigla po ako. Pinuntahan ko nga po 'yung mga bata. Ang problema po, ‘yun nga, medyo napasobra. Sobrang galit po. Hindi ko po inaasahan na gano'n namang niyayari. Hindi ko po talaga sinasadya po ‘yun. Hindi ko po talaga gusto,” said the suspect.

The suspect allegedly used an improvised gun that he bought from a local hangout.

Authorities confirmed that Romualdez’s live-in partner was the last person seen with her before the fatal incident.
