Another car got into the scramble and hit the rear part of the truck.

The relatives of the deceased victims no longer proceeded with filing a case against the truck driver.

In the Philippines, a driver who kills someone in an accident can still face legal consequences even if the victim’s family does not file a case.

Authorities may investigate and charge the driver with Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide, a public crime that the government can prosecute.

While a financial settlement with the victim’s family may resolve civil liability, it does not automatically dismiss criminal charges, which can lead to imprisonment, fines, or license suspension.
