According to the narration of Jerald, they parked the SUV at the resort where they were staying.
Thereafter, the victim alighted from the vehicle, went to the back of the car to get their things.

A man whose face was covered allegedly approached them, and the Jerald said that he was already carrying a firearm.
The victim thought that the assailant was a roomboy, and even approached him.
At that juncture, the victim was shot.
Jerald recounted that he just closed his eyes, and felt that the bag that he was carrying was pulled away from him, and the suspect running quickly away.
It was when he saw that his partner was already fighting for his life.
The assailant was able to take the P50,000, which the victim would have used for the business that they planned.
Jerald and the American met each other during pandemic, and have also married each other in the U.S.
They were in the Philippines simply for a vacation.
Jerald will be going back to the U.S. to bring the remains of the victim.
