- Police Col. Pergentino Malabed Jr’s video showing him bidding his wife and daughter goodbye has gone viral

- The video was posted by the wife of the police colonel last January 22 and was taken at the time he flew to the United States for an official trip

- It can be recalled that P/Col Malabed was among the casualties in the fatal mid-air collision of a military chopper and a passenger jet over the skies of Washington DC

- In the video, one can see the little daughter of the police colonel crying hard and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt as if trying to stop him from flying to the US

Police Col. Pergentino Malabed Jr’s video, shared by his wife, Rio Alanis Taganas-Malabed, on Facebook has touched the hearts of many netizens.

In the video, one can see the PNP official bidding his wife and little daughter goodbye as he flies to India and the United States on official business.

It can be recalled that P/Col Malabed was confirmed to be among those who died in the recent fatal mid-air collision between a military chopper and a passenger jet over the Washington DC skies.

The US government revealed everyone on board both aircraft perished.

In the video shared by the PNP official’s wife, Rio, one can see his little daughter crying very hard and holding on tight to her father’s t-shirt collar as if not wanting him to go.

In the video, one can hear Col. Malabed tell his daughter, Talna, that he’ll see her soon, though also remarked that his daughter don’t want to let go of him.

“I'll see you soon, baby. Ayaw bitawan,” Col. Malabed was heard saying in the video.

As it turned out, it was the last time Rio and her daughter, Talna, would see Col. Malabed alive.

He was among those who perished in the fatal mid-air collision between a passenger jet and a military chopper over Washington DC last January 31.

Recently, Rio flew to the United States to identify the body of her husband, Col. Malabed.

News, photos or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media, due to the attention netizens give them. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people, making them very relatable.

It can be recalled that GMA News previously reported about a high-ranking PNP official being among the casualties in the recent mid-air collision between a chopper and a US passenger jet in Washington DC. Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla himself confirmed that the Filipino PNP official was among the fatalities. He also said that the said official, who carries the rank of a colonel, is the head of one of the divisions within the Philippine National Police. The Interior Secretary also said that the PNP official is on official travel at the time of his death.

In other more recent news, a businessman died after riding in tandem suspects shot him while driving his SUV. The SUV of the businessman subsequently struck an electric post, wrecking the front section of the vehicle. GMA’s “24 Oras” reported that authorities have caught the perpetrator. The report also stated that the family of the victim has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
