- Ken Fred "Kentoy" Segura was shot by an armed suspect in Cotabato

- According to investigations, Kentoy and his nephew were on their way to Pulang-Lupa to play basketball

- Since they weren't familiar with the area, they asked residents for directions, and that's when were shot by the suspect

- The former NCAA and MPBL basketball player sustained 2 gun shots which resulted in his death

In a report by Joseph Morong in 'State of the Nation,' the suspect even tried to use the victim's car as a getaway vehicle.

Police authorities were able to apprehend the car that matched the description of the gunman's car. The driver escaped but they were able to nab its girl companion.

Both the driver and the girl are now being considered as persons of interest. Police are still investigating the real motive behind the crime.

Meanwhile, Segura's nephew was safe from the shooting incident.
