The family of the sampaguita girl who went viral after an altercation with a mall security guard will not be filing charges against him.
"Nagalit kami sa ginawa ng security guard, pero inisip na lang namin na baka katulad namin siya na mahirap din," said the mother.
In a report by ABS-CBN, representatives from the DSWD talked to the mother of the girl, where the latter revealed that the girl was already 22 years old and studying in college.
She also has a twin who is taking up nursing.

The family relies on selling sampaguita for a living.
The parents would be making the sampaguita, and the children would be selling them after they are done with their school work.
She also signified that they would not be pressing charges, thinking that the guard might be like them, poor.
"Gusto talaga nila makapagtapos sila dahil mahirap buhay namin," the father stated.
"Mayroon naman silang module. Unahin muna nila module bago magtinda, nagtitinda sila dito mga uwi naman sila mga ten," he added.
