John Arcilla is among the celebrities who shared their two cents on the viral video of a security guard shooing away a young girl selling sampaguita garlands.
In the video, the guard assigned at SM Megamall was also caught destroying the child vendor’s bundles of sampaguita. This prompted the girl, who was dressed in a school uniform, to hit back with the ruined garlands while the guard retaliated by kicking the girl.

John then shared the video on his Instagram page and expressed his frank reaction in the caption.
“Kung hindi miserable at hindi mahirap ang buhay ng bata, magtitinda kaya siya ng Sampaguita kung may iba siyang paraan ng pagkakakitaan? Wala naman siyang sinasaktang tao. Mahirap na nga ang buhay niya, papahirapin pa natin?”
He went on to emotionally pen, “Such a sad video to watch. Nag hahanap buhay yung bata. Bakit kailangan wasakin yung tinda niya? Hindi ko masisi ang bata kung bakit nagalit.”
The veteran actor also could not help but write fiery remarks about the guard.
“Bakit may mga Guard o taong ganito? Sana may kunsiderasyon. When we are in authority and we use it to mistreat someone we outrank, what kind of person are we? Sana ay mabigyan ng tamang leksiyon ang Guard.”
John Arcilla, whose full name is Romeo Gonzales Arcilla, is an acclaimed actor and environmentalist from the Philippines. He is best known for playing the lead role of Antonio Luna in the historical drama, 'Heneral Luna'. John won the Best Actor Award at the 78th Venice Film Festival for his lead role in the film ‘On the Job: The Missing 8.’
