A 39-year-old man from Calbayog City, Samar, killed his own mother after an argument.

In a report from Frontline Pilipinas Weekend, an eyewitness saw the suspect dragging the 77-year-old victim by her feet outside their house on January 4.

Investigations revealed that the victim hit her head, leading to her death.

The incident reportedly happened because the mother refused to give her son money to travel to Catarman, Northern Samar.

The suspect was already arrested and charged with parricide.

In another viral local report, a businessman kidnapped in Quezon City was found dead in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. In an interview with 24-Oras, one of the suspects admitted the victim was strangled and had a cellophane wrapped around his face. Afterwards, the killed businessman was put inside a water drum, and buried in San Jose Del Monte. It's the same kidnap-slay crime committed against Ruby Rose Barrameda in 2007 and as it turned out, the alleged mastermind behind the two crimes was believed to be the same person.
