A backrider of motorcycle died after an electric cable that was allegedly snagged by the wing van that it was following, suddenly snapped and cut his head.

Based on the report of Cyril Chaves of GMA Regional TV, the incident happened in Brgy. Agay-ayan, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

Based on the investigation, the cable hit the neck of the victim, which resulted in his head being cut.

The investigation also showed that the victim was an Indian national.

Authorities are also trying to look for CCTV footage in the area to help determine the identity of the driver of the wing van.

"Unfortunately sa ngayon hindi pa natin na-identify ang wing van kasi kahit ang rider ng motorsiklo hindi niya ma-identify dahil ang area madilim at malakas ang ulan [nang mangyari ang insidente," said Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson Police Major Joann Navarro.
