A person with special needs was fatally shot by a security guard in Bacolod City only two days before Christmas.
In a video report by iFM Bacolod 94.3, the victim was identified as Runier Sigapore, a resident of a nearby barangay.
It also stated that the victim was a PWD and identified as a person with special needs.
According to the report, the victim sustained two gunshot wounds, one just below his mount and the other gunshot wound is located in the abdominal area.

In an interview with the family of the victim, they said that their kin would often escape their home and just roam the streets and ask food from “sari-sari” stores, which the family would just pay afterwards.
On that fateful night of Monday, December 23, the victim allegedly went inside a store owned by the security guard and manned by his brother.
The said security guard reportedly responded to the call for help of his brother and his children.
When the said security guard, who was doing some duty across the busy street, got to his store, an alleged commotion ensued and subsequently, two shots of gunfire was heard.
After the smoke cleared, the victim was seen lying motionless on the side of the street, barely two meters away from the security guard’s store.
The said security guard has since surrendered to police authorities and said he didn’t know the person was a PWD and that he shot him allegedly in self-defense.
