In the photos, one can see a thick layer of ash covering plants and the ground, giving everything a grayish hue.
A netizen, presumably the one who uploaded the photos, also showed his arm with splotches of wet ash.
He identified his location as Barangay Ilijan in Bago City.

According to PHIVOLCS, what the netizen showed on his arm are PDC or pyroclastic density currents, which resulted from the eruption of the volcano.
Earlier, the restive volcano suddenly erupted with such a might that residents from faraway barangays said they heard a thunderous boom.
It was then followed by a low-frequency rumble with many of the residents saying they felt ground shaking under their feet.
PHIVOLCS said the eruption happened around three in the afternoon.

According to PHIVOLCS, the eruption occurred around 3PM today, December 9, and produced a plume that reached 3,000 meters above the volcano’s vent. PHIVOLCS has raised Alert Level 3 in nearby towns and cities.
