In the photos, one can see a thick layer of ash covering plants and the ground, giving everything a grayish hue.

A netizen, presumably the one who uploaded the photos, also showed his arm with splotches of wet ash.

He identified his location as Barangay Ilijan in Bago City.

According to PHIVOLCS, what the netizen showed on his arm are PDC or pyroclastic density currents, which resulted from the eruption of the volcano.

Earlier, the restive volcano suddenly erupted with such a might that residents from faraway barangays said they heard a thunderous boom.

It was then followed by a low-frequency rumble with many of the residents saying they felt ground shaking under their feet.

PHIVOLCS said the eruption happened around three in the afternoon.

Recently, Kanlaon volcano erupted with such an explosive force this afternoon that the sound was heard in faraway barangays. Residents in some towns and barangays also reported feeling the ground shake. According to PHIVOLCS, the eruption occurred around 3PM today, December 9, and produced a plume that reached 3,000 meters above the volcano’s vent. PHIVOLCS has raised Alert Level 3 in nearby towns and cities.

In other news, a police executive master sergeant was killed in Taguig and the different parts off his body were found buried in Baguio. According to the report of 24 Oras of GMA, the victim was reported missing by his own child. Investigation showed a possible love triangle between the policewoman, the victim, and the husband of the former. It was later found that he was killed and the husband of the policewoman, a lieutenant colonel, admitted to the crime.
