A responding ambulance tragically hit and killed a 5-year-old boy in Taytay, Rizal.

Authorities said the victim's family had attended a birthday party when the accident occurred.

According to a report by EJ Gomez on GMA 7's '24 Oras,' the boy followed his 12-year-old sister after their mother asked her to buy a plastic bag.

Police stated that after making the purchase, the sister went to a friend, and when the boy crossed the road to follow her, the accident happened.

The authorities reiterated that it was an accident because as shown in the CCTV footage, the ambulance was not speeding.

According to an eyewitness, prior to hitting the 5-year-old boy, the ambulance also hit a mixer. He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
