Residents in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat are alarmed as a river in their area has turned a coffee-like color.
They fear the contamination could harm nearby communities and aquatic life.
In a report by Regional TV News of GMA 7's Balitanghali, the local government suspects illegal mining activities might be the cause of the river's unusual appearance.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region XII is currently investigating the matter.
