The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI has declared that the video showing a ranting and cursing VP Sara Duterte is not “deep-fake.”
In a statement, the Director of the NBI, Jaime Santiago, said that investigators form the Bureau’s Cybercrime division have found the video clip to be authentic and not AI-generated.
“The NBI Cybercrime investigators have found the video clip to be authentic. Hindi po ito deep-fake or AI generated,” NBI Director Santiago, in a statement, said.

He also revealed the Bureau started the video analysis after receiving a directive from the DOJ to establish the veracity of the video.

The NBI Director also revealed that this was the department’s response to the call of the Executive Secretary, in coordination with the Presidential Security Command.
It can be recalled that the video of VP Sara showing her cursing and ranting at President Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Martin Romualdez, threatening to have them assassinated if something happens to her has gone viral.

Meanwhile, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, the chief of staff of VP Sara Duterte, wailed when she was about to be transferred to the Veterans Memorial Hospital. She embraced the vice president and was appealing to her not to leave her. The transfer order was read and effectuated by BGen. Nicolas Torre III. Lopez was ordered detained by Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua following the hearing at the Quad Comm.
