The hack suggested not giving change below P30 to ride-hailing app users by claiming there are no coins available.

It drew backlash not only from app users but also from fellow riders, some saying it damages their profession's reputation.

In an interview with GMA 7 that was aired in State of the Nation, the uploader of the viral post said he wouldn’t apologize, explaining that it was meant as a joke.

News, photos or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media, due to the attention netizens give them. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people, making them very relatable.

In a previous report by KAMI, a 16-year-old boy jumped into a creek but unfortunately died after allegedly trying to steal a bicycle. The incident happened in Barangay Imelda, Baguio City, yesterday. According to the police's investigation, the teenager was accompanied by a 10-year-old boy in his attempt to steal a bicycle. However, a construction worker saw them and called them out; that's when they tried to flee from the scene and jumped into a creek.

In another viral story reported by KAMI, a gasoline boy was chopped in the face with a machete when a customer whom he called out got mad at him. The suspect allegedly asked for his motorcycle tank to be fully filled, however, he only paid ₱50. In a CCTV footage, the rider parked his motorcycle on one side of the gasoline station, took out a machete from his utility box, and swung it right in the face of the gasoline boy. Thankfully, the suspect was caught by a security guard, and the victim was quickly taken to the hospital and is now recovering from the wound.
