A truck carrying around 50 boy scouts and teachers got hurt, some of them seriously, when the said vehicle tumbled and eventually fell on its side.
In a report by the Inquirer, the said vehicle, an Isuzu Elf truck, and its passengers were en route to a jamboree site, reportedly in the Sibantang village of Talisay town.
Witnesses say that while the Isuzu Elf truck was negotiating a steep uphill climb in an area in Talisayan town in Misamis Oriental, it suddenly tumbled and fell on its side.
This caused its passengers to be thrown out of its open cargo bed, with some of them landing on the hard, paved road.

In the Inquirer report, it quoted a town official named Rene Sina, reportedly of the town’s municipal disaster risk reduction and management office, or MDRRMO, that its brake malfunctioned.
The report further stated that at least 14 passengers, included a number of boy scouts, were hurt.
It also stated that of the 14 individuals who were hurt, four of them sustained serious injuries.
They were brought to the Talisayan Provincial Hospital for proper treatment.
Meanwhile, a netizen with the handle @HalanoTV was able to capture and upload on Facebook a video showing the truck on its side with some of the passengers seen lying motionless on the road.

In other news, Mayor Tin Antonio of Alcala, Cagayan, through a social media post questioned the late forecast of PAGASA. According to the Mayor, PAGASA announced the landfall of the typhoon approximately 20 minutes after it actually made a landfall. She also lamented what she called the delay of releasing vital information, particularly as regards the path of the typhoon. Near the end of her post on social media, the Alcala local chief executive claimed that PAGASA took away their confidence and resolve.
Meanwhile, in a news report in the Visayas, a female college student died after she allegedly fell from the terrace. According to Cebu Daily News Inquirer, the victim was having a fight with her ex-boyfriend. She then allegedly lost her balance and fell off the third floor terrace. The incident happened at a building along Urgello Street, Sambag 1, Cebu City.
