Alice Guo, in what appeared to be a screengrab of a video shared by GMA News on Instagram, can be seen wearing a helmet and bulletproof vest as she was brought to the Philippine Senate.

The video, which was shared on Instagram by the office of Senator Risa Hontiveros, showed that the dismissed Bamban official is already in the Senate premises.

The former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, was arrested in the satellite city of Tangerang in Jakarta, Indonesia by Indonesian authorities.

She was then turned over to the Philippine authorities, who then brought Guo back to the Philippines.

At the time, her lawyer, Atty. Stephen David, stated that he cannot assure the attendance of his client in Senate hearings as the court has already acquired jurisdiction over her.

However, last Friday, September 6, the office of Senator Risa shared a photo of a document showing the court has granted its permission for Guo to attend Senate hearings.

Alice Leal Guo was the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations or (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then. She has been dismissed by the Omnbudsman.

Recently, Guo answered the question about Atty. Elmer Galicia, the notary public who notarized her counter-affidavit. The dismissed Bamban mayor confirmed knowing the lawyer in a video shared by GMA News. "Kilala," she described the notary, without further elaborating on the depth of their being an acquaintance. Alice was brought back to the Philippines after DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos and PNP Chief Rommel Marbil flew to Indonesia to secure her custody.

She has also revealed to the National Bureau of Investigation the real identity behind her "kalookalike." In the video shared by GMA Integrated News, the NBI authorities showed her a photo of the person touted to be her "kalookalike" or "doppelganger." The dismissed Bamban mayor said that the person in the photo was her employee. She was also noticeably calm and at ease as she was talking to authorities.
