Carlos Yulo gave a message for his former coach, Japanese Munehiro Kugimiya, in a recent ambush interview by an ABS-CBN reporter.
During that interview, the reporter asked if there would a chance he would be working and training again with Coach Munehiro.
“Nabanggit mo pupunta ka ng Japan, to think, yung team mo dun, yung former coach, is there a chance you'll be working, training with Coach Munehiro again?” the reporter asked.
The Pinoy Olympian then gave an honest answer to the question and then added his message to his former coach and team there.

“Ah, not sure about that po pero I want to say thank you to them po na sa help po na binigay po nila sa akin support po,” Carlos said.
It can be recalled that Carlos was under the tutelage of Coach Kugimiya since 2016.
It began when he accepted the scholarship offer of the Japan Olympic Association to study and train there.
He studied at the Teikyo University in Itabashi, Tokyo while training under Coach Kugimiya.
Last year, after seven years of being his coach, Kugimiya and Carlos parted ways, though as the Olympian said, without any bad blood between them.
Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He won two gold medals in gymnastics' men's floor exercise and men's vault in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In the same interview, Carlos expressed his opinion on the possibility of having a Team Yulo in Olympics 2028. Earlier, a reporter asked the Pinoy Olympian if there is any chance of Carlos and his siblings competing together in the international competition four years from now. The two-gold medalist gave his answer to the reporter with a broad smile. It can be recalled that the siblings of the Pinoy Olympian, Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo and Elaiza Yulo, were both gymnasts and have already won in various national and international competitions.
