DOT poster na may maling lokasyon ng Banaue Rice Terraces, tinanggal na sa NAIA

- A Department of Tourism poster promoting Banaue Rice Terraces went viral on social media

- The advertisement placed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) erroneously labeled the famous spot located in Ifugao as a Benguet tourist site

- The ad made the rounds on social media after archaeologist Stephen Acabado took notice of the error and posted a photo of it online

- According to Unang Hirit’s "Unang Balita" report on Tuesday, DOT has now removed the said billboard

The Department of Tourism’s landscape poster of the Banaue Rice Terraces displayed at Terminal 4 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) made the rounds all over social media.

This was after archaeologist Stephen Acabado, who spotted a major error on the advertisement, posted a photo of it online.

The ad erroneously labeled the world-renowned National Cultural Treasure as a Benguet tourist site. However, the man-made wonder is located in the province of Ifugao.

According to a report by Unang Hirit’s "Unang Balita" on Tuesday, July 16, the poster with erroneous information has already been taken down.

On the other hand, Ifugao Governor Jerry Dalipog told GMA News, “Dapat iwas na lang nila. Mula ngayon iwawasto na, para hindi naman an every now and they magkakamali.”

“Dapat i-correct nila bago nila ilabas,” Dalipog added.
