San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora presented Lexter Castro, also known as Boy Dila, to the media on Tuesday, July 2 at the San Juan City Hall.
In a press conference, Zamora said Castro agreed to air an apology before the members of the media.
“Bago ko siya iniharap sa inyo ngayon, nakapag-usap naman po kami at lahat naman pong ito ay kanyang sinang-ayunan,” Zamora shared.
Castro then apologized to the mayor, the public, and especially the rider he doused with water during the Wattah Wattah Festival on June 24.

“Nagpapasensya po ako sa aming mayor sa nagawa ko po. Dahil po sa akin, nasisira po ang San Juan po. Sa lahat po, humihingi po ako ng paumanhin sa inyo sa mga nasibi ko po sa inyo, lalong-lalo na po sa rider. Humihingi po ako ng tawad po sa inyo at gusto ko po kayong makita. Personally, gusto ko pong humingi ng paumanhin po.”

“Kung ano-ano na lang din pong lumalabas na pagbabanta sa akin, lalong-lalo na po sa pamilya ko.”
“Kung may galit po sila sa akin, ako na lang po ang anuhin nila. Dahil masakit din po kasi nadadamay po ang pamilya ko,” he pleaded.

The “basaan” tradition during Wattah Wattah Festival is part of the celebration of the city’s patron saint, Saint John the Baptist. It is being held every 24th of June.
