A monthsary post on Facebook showing a vice-mayor in Iloilo, who is an LGBTQIA+ member, is seen in a number of sweet pics with his jowa, has gone viral.
The two were recently featured in GMA7’s ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ where they narrated their love story.
Vice-Mayor Geefre “Calay” A. Alonsabe has made no secret of his gender preference in the town of Alimodian in Iloilo province.
In an interview by GMA7, Alonsabe said he has served the town of Alimodian for 34 years, nine years of which as mayor and six years as vice-mayor.

He also showed several awards that Alimodian won when he was serving as mayor of the town.
Alonsabe is also a champion of LGBTQIA+ rights in Alimodian, where he was able to set up a separate toilet for the LGBTQIA+ members.
The vice-mayor said he met his present boyfriend, Mr. Jaz Dionisio, in a bar in Iloilo. The two hit it off immediately and soon they became a couple.
During the interview, Alonsabe expressed his belief that his boyfriend, Mr. Jaz Dionisio, accepts him for what he is and truly loves him.
He said that when Dionisio attended his recent inauguration, that was when the vice-mayor realized his BF truly loves him.
“Nung makita ko siya, nag-blush ako,” Vice-Mayor Alonsabe said.
When they became officially a couple, Jaz told him they should call each other “Mom” and “Dad.”
“Sabi ko awkward naman, sabi ko tatawagin mo akong mommy tapos dalawa tayo may kalawit,” the vice-mayor humorously said.
The couple recently celebrated their monthsary where they displayed a cake in the photo they posted showing the greeting that reads, “Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad.”
