Sanya Lopez goes behind the scenes of new GMA series ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’

Sanya Lopez was interviewed by KAMI about her new GMA series “Ang Lihim ni Urduja”, which airs on weekdays at 8 p.m.

The Kapuso star proudly shared that the teleserye features new acting styles from the cast and fresh ideas from their young director Jorron Lee Monroy.

“Siguro ang pinaka masasabi ko dito sa bagong teleserye namin na ’Mga Lihim ni Urduja,‘ of course, di ba alam nyo naman magkakasama kami ulit ni Kylie (Padilla), ni Gabbi (Garcia), siguro ang kaibahan nito, masusurprise ang lahat. Syempre ilang taon na rin ang dumaan after ng ’Encantadia.‘

“Maraming mga bagong ideas na pwede naming mai-apply ulit dito. Bagong acting na pwedeng, bagong acting na atake. At of course, batang-bata din yung director namin kaya marami rin siyang naiisip na bagong ideas. At yung mga shots ng camera ang ganda. And siguro maipagmamalaki ko lang dito, kami yung kauna-unahang gumawa dito sa atin na virtual set yung gamit namin,” Sanya said.

In preparing for her character Hara Urduja, Sanya‘s biggest challenge was the different languages she had to learn for her role.

She also had to double her effort in working out because at the age of 26, her metabolism is not as fast as it was in her teens when she could still eat lots of food without gaining weight.

“Difficult part, ang masasabi ko talaga na naging challenge sa akin, yung iba't-ibang language na gagamitin dito ni Urduja. Right now, inaayos pa ng mga writers kung paano ko sasabihin din. Syempre meron talagang mga taga-usisa din kung tama ba yung sasabihin ko dun.

”Paano ko pinaghandaan? Marami, ganun pa rin, so siguro pagdating sa mga pag work out, yan, dinodoble-doble ko kasi syempre hindi na tayo ganun ka bagets na kahit anong dami ng pagkain, ang bilis i-burn. So ngayon mas doble yung effort sa pagwo-work out,” she explained.

When asked how she relates to the character of Hara Urduja, Sanya shared that both she and Hara are strong, independent, and empowered women.

Nakaka-relate sa character, independent si Urduja so parang feeling ko yun yung isa na magkapareho kami. Pareho kaming pinalaki ng matatag. So dapat strong ka. Strong, empowered women kami pareho. I think yun. Kailangan malakas. Syempre mahilig si Urduja protektahan yung mga nasasakupan nya. Ako gusto ko na kahit sa simpleng bagay na makatulong sa street children. Yun, ganun naman kami. Pero hindi ko alam kung same ba kami. Yun yung mga feel ko na pareho,” Sanya told KAMI.

Shaira Lenn Osuna Roberto, more popularly known in showbiz as Sanya Lopez, is a Filipina actress and singer. She gained popularity after she played the role of Danaya in GMA's remake of "Encantadia". She recently played one of the lead roles in GMA's "First Yaya".
