"I have had issues, and now I have lost my sight. I couldn't see the performance, but I still enjoyed it," Elton shared, expressing gratitude despite the heartbreaking news.
In an Instagram post, he said he was positive about the recovery of his eyes.
However, two months after the post, he told ABC News his right eye couldn't see and his left eye was "not the greatest."
Sadly, his condition kept him out of the studio where he had been working on a new album.
"It's been a while since I've done anything," Elton John said. "There's hope and encouragement that it will be okay, but it's, I'm kind of stuck at the moment."
