Kapuso actress Liezel Lopez has confirmed that she is no longer in a relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend, revealing that they mutually decided to give each other space after experiencing conflicts stemming from their different lifestyles.

The actress opened up about her relationship status during her November 2 guest appearance on GMA's Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where she appeared alongside fellow actresses Analyn Barro and Arra San Agustin.

Liezel clarified that their separation did not involve a major falling-out, describing their decision to part ways as a peaceful one. She also explained that she currently wants to prioritize her personal development and acting career while allowing her former partner to pursue his own goals.

“I think I just really want to focus on myself, my career, and I want him to do the same for himself too. So sabi ko, 'Let's just [give eachother] space. You know? Space lang, focus on your work,” said Liezel.

Beyond their decision to focus on themselves, the actress pointed out that their different worlds had become a source of conflict in their relationship.

Liezel acknowledged that navigating their individual lifestyles was not always easy, which contributed to the challenges they encountered as a couple.

Despite their separation, she expressed that she was not entirely closing the door on the possibility of getting back together someday. Her statement suggested that she was leaving the future of their relationship to fate rather than forcing things to work out at the moment.

“I'm like, 'Okay, so focus muna tayo on each other's world and maybe, malay mo, kung tayo talaga, pagkikitain tayo ulit ni Lord at kung tayo talaga sa huli, magiging tayo,'” said Liezel.

The actress had previously spoken about having a non-showbiz boyfriend during an August 14 episode of the same GMA afternoon talk show.

At the time, Liezel chose not to reveal extensive details about her romantic life because she preferred to keep her relationship away from public attention.
