The Viva Hot Babes member shared the frightening story during Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” Gwen said she and Jennifer were part of the entertainment lineup for a campaign event and were expected to perform after speeches by vice presidential and senatorial candidates.

Gwen deliberately chose not to identify the political figures involved, but described the incident as an experience that left her deeply frightened.

“It was during an election. It was a campaign, so we went with them everywhere they went. I don’t want to mention who the president and vice president were. It was so scary. It was very traumatic because I wasn’t expecting people to go up the stage,” Gwen said in a mix of Filipino and English.

According to her recollection, a group of people suddenly rushed onto the stage, causing it to collapse. She said they were then taken away one by one.

Jennifer also remembered the confusing moment, particularly after noticing that Gwen was being brought in a direction different from the others.

“I saw someone else carrying Gwen. I didn’t know who the person was. They were carrying Gwen. Then we were heading toward the van. I said, ‘Why does it seem like Gwen is going in a different direction?’” Jennifer said in Filipino.

Gwen explained that soldiers initially carried them, but someone else took her away.

“The person carrying us was a soldier. But in my case, a different person was carrying me. I was so upset at the time. I was extremely scared. Of course, I was thinking, ‘What are they going to do to me?’” Gwen said.

The situation eventually led to a rescue after the mayor of Marawi pursued the group. Gwen expressed gratitude for the intervention and recalled seeing a confrontation afterward.

“After that, the mayor of Marawi chased after them. And I thank God, and thank you, mayor. After that, I saw them fighting and covered in blood,” she said.

Gwen also described how fear affected her during the incident. Although she had an opportunity to run while the people involved were fighting, she said she could not move because of how frightened she was.

“I thought that only happened in the movies or on TV,” she said. “It’s true that you will freeze. I could have run when they were fighting. But because I was so scared, my whole body was trembling, and I couldn’t run,” she said.

Her account highlighted how the unexpected incident during what was supposed to be a campaign event became a deeply traumatic experience that she continues to remember.

Recently, Maui Taylor, Katya Santos, and Andrea del Rosario also shared their perspectives on the controversy surrounding Chloe San Jose’s remarks about weddings. Andrea brought up the biblical teaching about honoring parents when the topic of the much-discussed family conflict came up. Katya, meanwhile, acknowledged that there may be circumstances unknown to the public and noted that an uncomfortable situation could arise if a bride were pressured into a reunion. Maui offered a more conciliatory view, suggesting that the parties involved first set aside their differences and have a conversation before deciding who should receive an invitation.

Previously, the three former Viva Hot Babes members also spoke about speculation involving changes to the lineup of their upcoming reunion concert. Maui addressed the issue by stressing the importance of respecting others and pursuing success without taking away from someone else’s journey. The trio denied having anything to do with the removal of another group from the concert, explaining that the changes were made by top management. Katya further clarified why some of the original members would not be joining, saying that several of them are now living abroad while focusing on their families and careers.
