Bianca Umali opened up about her grandmother Lola Vicky’s wishes regarding grandchildren while discussing her relationship with longtime boyfriend Ruru Madrid and their views on marriage.

Lola Vicky recently celebrated her 90th birthday, and Bianca shared during her appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, September 22, that her grandmother has not been pressuring her to have a child.

Bianca explained that while there is no pressure from her grandmother, marriage remains important to her family before welcoming a grandchild.

“Hindi naman po siya nampe-pressure, pero mahalaga po siyempre kay Mama na kasal muna. Ako po ang nagsasabi na, 'Mama, antayin mo, ha?'” Bianca said, referring to her grandmother.

The actress also acknowledged that marriage has already become a topic between her and Ruru. However, Bianca made it clear that they are not treating marriage as something that needs to happen immediately.

“Kung mangyayari siya, mangyayari siya. Kung kailan mangyayari, ang Ama lang po ang may alam,” Bianca said.

She further explained that she and Ruru are neither rushing toward marriage nor closing the possibility of it happening in the future.

“I wouldn't say naman na nagmamadali kami, hindi naman namin sinasabi na hindi siya mangyayari, pero hindi rin po namin sinasabi na kailangan siyang mangyari. Maganda po 'yung tinatahak namin ni Ruru dalawa as individuals ngayon, at iniingatan po namin 'yung relasyon namin,” she said.

Bianca emphasized that their current focus includes their individual journeys while making sure that their relationship continues to be cared for.

The couple’s marriage plans have previously sparked speculation among fans and netizens. In 2024, Bianca became the subject of wedding rumors after appearing as a judge on a segment of the noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

“From that moment, nagulat ako, pagka-commercial gap, I checked my phone, hindi ko inakala na gano'n ang magiging reaksyon ng mga tao. Nagkaroon sila ng speculations na 'kasal na ba daw kami,' 'nag-propose na ba sa akin si Ruru,' 'may tinatago ba kaming proposal,'” Bianca recalled.

The actress subsequently clarified that she and Ruru have not been living together as a married couple.

“Definitely hindi po kami magsasama ng hindi pa po kami kasal,” she said.
