Taking to his verified Instagram account @tjmusicmonterde, the singer-songwriter uploaded a raw, acoustic video of himself performing in an empty room with just his guitar. Playing through grief, TJ sang heartfelt lyrics reflecting on an enduring friendship that accompanied him and his dreams.
In his caption, TJ opened up about the heavy heartbreak he has been carrying:
"How do you move forward from a loss like this? I wrote this song a few days after my dear friend Makoy passed, ngunit ngayon lang nagkalakas loob na makanta ito ng buo," TJ shared.

TJ recalled a recent interview where he spoke about his journey in the music industry.
"I even had this interview last week where I was asked about my career journey. As I was telling my story, I realized I couldn’t tell the whole thing without mentioning Makoy. That’s how much of a part he was in the person and artist I’ve become today. and looking back, it wasn’t an easy journey."
Looking back on their years of making music together, TJ expressed that he would choose the exact same journey with Makoy without hesitation:
"But if I had to walk it all over again, knowing everything I know now, o kung babalik ako sa simula — ikaw pa rin ang nais kong nandun. Ako ang kakanta. Ikaw pa rin ang gigitara."
He ended his tribute with a simple and touching farewell:

TJ Monterde is a Filipino pop singer and songwriter, best known for his album Ikaw At Ako and his self-titled extended play (EP). Aside from his achievements in the music industry, he has also built a career as a radio and television host. He is married to fellow singer KZ Tandingan. The couple first crossed paths through mutual friends in the music industry, including Martin Nievera and Kedevon, which eventually led to their relationship.
