“She can be funny but sa akin madalas, mas strikto siya, kaysa iba. Ako talaga pinakasutil niya in many ways. Pinalo ako ni mommy once kasi nag mura ako sa school–– ng prep,” she shared.

Matet also jokingly described herself as the child who gave Nora the most headaches.

“Ako yung pinaka sakit talaga ng ulo malala,” she added.

Despite Nora's busy schedule, Matet said her mother always found ways to make up for the time they missed together. She recalled memorable moments when the award-winning actress created special experiences solely for her children.

“When she has time, babawi talaga siya. Nag pasara siya ng amusement park–– sa Fiesta Carnival. Pinasara niya yan. Hindi pa uso ang block screening, pinasara niya sa Virra Mall. Manonood kami ng Terminator 2. Last full show pero kami lang,” she recalled.

Still, Matet admitted that being the daughter of a superstar was not always something she enjoyed.

“Actually, hindi ko type kasi laging wala si mommy. Lagi siyang wala, lagi siyang nasa ibang bansa. Although, meron siyang pinapakausapan to take care of us–– another national artist [Ricky Lee],” she shared.

Matet went on to praise acclaimed screenwriter Ricky Lee for helping care for them during those years.

“Mahal na mahal rin kami ni tito Ricky. Mahal na mahal din namin siya so a few times a week, he would go to our house and take care of us. Kakamustahin niya kami, but then iba pa rin siyempre yung nanay ko nandoon. Medyo hindi namin siya nakakasama madalas,” she expressed.

Matet de Leon is a Filipino actress who first gained prominence as a celebrated child star in the 1980s. The adopted daughter of industry icons Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon, she successfully transitioned into adult roles, earning the affectionate nickname "Best Friend ng Bayan" for her frequent supporting characters in film and television.

In another report, Lotlot de Leon and her siblings came together to remember the late Nora Aunor on what would have been the iconic actress’ 73rd birthday on May 21. Photos shared online showed Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko visiting Nora’s final resting place as a family. Many netizens noticed that their brother Ian de Leon was not seen in the images that circulated on social media.
