He also reflected on the influence public figures can have on others, especially on social media.

“What are the odds [na] makita ko yung message? It also makes us aware of the power of celebrities. We might take it for granted–– it’s only one reply but you know these kids, they look up to us because they grew up with us. That reply by a celebrity could actually save a life,” he said.

The host recalled an encounter with a fan who later confessed during a coffee meeting that she had been struggling with depression and had considered ending her life before receiving his response.

The moment deeply reminded him of the responsibility that comes with his platform.

Atienza also reflected on how the experience changed his perspective on parenting.

“Both ways–– ang ibang parents, they harden and they insist on what they know. But some parents are flexible–– I learned the hard way because Emman passed away. To parents who are listening, you don’t have to learn the hard way,” he said.

He added that understanding today’s youth requires patience and openness.

“Kids nowadays are not like us. They have different needs, there are different factors that affect their minds so therefore, hindi madadala sa pilit, hindi madadaan sa palo, hindi madadaan sa wag kang maarte–– maraming paraan,” he explained.

Looking back, Atienza shared that grief still comes in waves, but he now tries to focus on memories and meaning.

“I remember the good memories and I know that there's a purpose. Knowing that there’s a purpose makes it less and less as impactful but it will always be there. That’s how I cope. Find your purpose in it,” he said.
