OPM artist Hev Abi, whose real name is Gabriel Abilla, was arrested in Quezon City.

According to the Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the 24-year-old rapper was apprehended early Tuesday morning in Barangay Laging Handa, Diliman.

He was arrested together with six other individuals during the Oplan Paglalansag Omega operation.

Police served a search warrant for violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Comprehensive Dangerous Dr*gs Act of 2002.

During the operation, authorities seized a Taurus G3 9mm pistol, one magazine, and 15 rounds of live ammunition. The items were properly inventoried and marked at the scene.

Meanwhile, in Negros Oriental, a 29-year-old suspect was arrested after allegedly throwing gasoline on a responding police officer. Despite being soaked in fuel, Police Corporal Rohenio Carbo was able to subdue the individual, stopping what could have escalated into a dangerous incident at the gas station. Further investigation linked the suspect to a previous motorcycle theft and an earlier reported threat against another resident. Corporal Carbo is said to be recovering, while the suspect is expected to face multiple charges that may include vehicle theft and violent resistance to authorities.
