The supporter went on to reflect on growing up abroad with limited Filipino representation.
“I am a Filipino Canadian,” says the fan.
“Imagine growing up being one of the only 3 or 4 Filipinos in your school for so many years.”
The message detailed struggles with identity and cultural pride, recalling painful experiences of being teased for food and appearance.
Looking back, the fan shared how meaningful BINI’s milestone would have been.
“If only my 10-year-old self could have witnessed your performance this past weekend on that Coachella stage,” the fan says.
“It would've been something else if I knew we had representation like this in our world.”
Aiah previously highlighted this bigger purpose.
“Representation is such a powerful thing because it gives light, hope, a sense of belonging, and connection,” she says.
Following their 45-minute Mojave stage set, the group also reflected on the milestone.
“Coachella has always been our dream as a group,” says BINI Stacey.
