JM Ibarra revealed that one of the reasons he brought Fyang Smith to Mt. Pulag was the lack of mobile signal, giving them a rare chance to disconnect from their busy showbiz lives.

During their guesting on PUSH BETS with host Gary Ann Lastrilla, the Almost Us stars shared how their hiking trip came together after considering several international destinations.

“So ang kuwento niyan, nasa taping kami ng isang ginagawa namin na hindi pa puwede sabihin," says Fyang Smith.
“Tapos meron kaming pahinga for one week, basta maraming araw.”

She recalled how they debated multiple travel options before ultimately choosing a local adventure.

“Tapos sabi ko, ‘Punta kaya tayong Thailand?’ Init dun," says Fyang Smith.
“Vietnam? Yoko din dun, init.”

Despite considering far destinations, the pair decided on Mt. Pulag, marking Fyang’s first hiking experience.

Fyang shared that JM was initially worried about her, even overpreparing for the trip.

“Minamaliit niya ako (laughs)," says Fyang Smith.
“Sabi niya baka mamatay ka dito, ganyan.”

JM, meanwhile, said returning to Mt. Pulag allowed him to fully relax away from work pressures.

“Second time ko kasi yung Pulag," says JM Ibarra.
“So bigla na lang nag-sink in sa akin na parang ang sarap huminga.”

He added that being out of signal played a big role in his decision.

“And I’m sure na walang signal dun! (laughs)," says JM Ibarra.
“Malayo sa showbiz.”

The group began their hike at 1 a.m. and finished by mid-afternoon, visiting multiple peaks along the way despite having no sleep.

“Ang una naming pinuntahan is yung summit," says Fyang Smith.

Fyang also expressed pride in JM after he reached the summit first among their group, highlighting the memorable experience they shared beyond the spotlight.

Fyang Smith, 19, from Mandaluyong, and JM Ibarra, 25, from Quezon, rose to fame as breakout stars of Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11. Known together as the popular "JMFyang" love team, they have transitioned into lead acting roles, starring in the 2026 romantic comedy Almost Us. Fyang is the season’s "Big Winner" and a viral Gen Z content creator, while JM is a former aviation student turned rising leading man. Though they share a deep bond and frequently travel together, they describe their relationship as a supportive, career-driven partnership. Today, they remain two of the most influential and authentic young icons in the Philippine entertainment industry.

In another interview, Fyang Smith has finally addressed her viral video involving a marshal. The clip, which circulated widely on social media, appeared to show Fyang hitting the marshal, leading to heavy backlash against the Pinoy Big Brother winner across various platforms. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Fyang clarified that she and the marshal are actually close.

Meanwhile, during her guest appearance with Ogie Diaz, Fyang Smith also shared another revelation. She said she used to be frequently called to the 12th floor for meetings. The actress admitted that she often felt nervous whenever she had to go up there. However, Fyang emphasized that despite these experiences, management never neglected her.
