Chuck Gomez, the Atayde family's official representative, has finally addressed the absence of Maine Mendoza during a big family event this year.

According to the report of Manila Bulletin, rumors recently caught fire online after fans noticed that Maine was missing from the joint birthday celebration of her father-in-law, Art Atayde, and sister-in-law, Ria Atayde.

The speculation even became bigger when Bayani Agbayani shared a now-deleted TikTok video showing the happy Atayde clan—but with Maine nowhere to be found in the clip, as per the report of PEP.

Netizens also pointed out that Maine’s own birthday posts on March 3 and March 5 did not feature her husband, Congressman Arjo Atayde. Even her recent trip to Vietnam with friends had some fans asking in the comments about the status of her marriage.

However, in an exclusive chat with ABS-CBN News on March 26, the Atayde family’s official showbiz PR, Chuck Gomez, cleared the air. He explained that there is no trouble in paradise and Maine’s absence was due to a very simple reason:

"She (Mendoza) wasn't feeling well that day," Gomez told ABS-CBN News.

Arjo Atayde is a Filipino actor and public servant. He first gained recognition for his acting talent in television and film, particularly for portraying complex and often antagonistic roles. He became widely known for his performance as Joaquin Tuazon in the series Ang Probinsyano, where his portrayal of a conflicted villain earned praise. Coming from a family in the entertainment industry, he is also the son of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez. Beyond entertainment, Arjo transitioned into politics and currently serves as a congressman representing the First District of Quezon City. He is also known for his relationship with actress Maine Mendoza, which has drawn public interest, further increasing his visibility both in showbiz and public service.

In his caption, Arjo reflected on their journey together, expressing gratitude for sharing life with Maine through both the highs and lows.

Meanwhile, in 2025, Arjo Atayde distributed relief goods to flood-affected residents of Barangay Talayan. Photos on the Congressman Arjo Ataydr Facebook page showed him embracing citizens and ensuring aid reached families who could not evacuate. The caption emphasized that true public service has no limits and that he remains ready to give more. Atayde and his wife Maine Mendoza denied allegations linking him to flood control projects.
