Robredo responded on social media:

“Sagot sa fake news ng mga tao na walang kilalang politiko na (nagbu-bus) na walang bodyguard na kasama.”

She also apologized to fellow passengers: “Pasensya na sa mga pasahero na nakasama sa video.”

At the same time, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa reportedly requested the use of the Senate mansion in Baguio for personal recreation, which Senate President Tito Sotto III denied due to renovations. His continued absence from Senate sessions sparked criticism, highlighting the contrast between his actions and Robredo’s initiative to take a public bus.

In a Facebook post, Boom Labrusca defended Robredo and called out online trolls:

“Sumakay pa lng ng bus yan take note…lagare agad troll farm nila.”

He further added: “Bago ka maki bash sa pagsakay ng bus ni mam leni … aba papasukin mo din naman sa office si sen bato…oks lang ba? #tobefair.”
