The online exchange began after a social media user accused Magnaye of staying quiet about flood control issues, suggesting her silence was connected to her former boyfriend who allegedly worked at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Magnaye quickly responded and clarified that the person being referenced is already her ex-partner. She also expressed frustration over being repeatedly reminded about the past relationship.

“First of all, would be nice if you stopped reminding me about my ex,” Magnaye wrote in her reply.

She questioned why the criticism was directed at her when the accusation was not about her in the first place. Magnaye also pointed out that she had no authority over her former partner’s actions.

“Second, imagine na yung ex ko yung na accuse, pero sakin napunta ang lahat ng hate na parang ako yung nag tatrabaho dun sa dpwh?” she wrote.

Magnaye further explained that she had already spoken about the issue before and said that the absence of visibility on some posts does not mean she stayed silent.

“Third, nag post ako about it. Porket di mo nakita, di ibig sabihin hindi ako nag post,” she added.

The content creator also addressed the criticism through an Instagram Story where she shared a screenshot of the comment and her response.

“You have a problem with my ex working in the government? Take it up with HIM, not me,” Magnaye wrote in the caption.

In her message, she stressed that her ex is capable of speaking for himself.

“He's a grown man and he can tell you himself,” she said.

Magnaye ended by expressing frustration about being dragged into an issue that she believes was never hers to answer for.
