Actor Zanjoe Marudo shared his thoughts on the importance of respecting women following the controversy involving Anne Curtis and Bong Suntay.

Marudo addressed the issue during the special screening and media conference for his upcoming series The Silent Noise, where he stars alongside Angelica Panganiban. The actor admitted he was not prepared for the question but still gave a serious response about the issue.

“Siyempre, hindi maganda na nababastos ang mga babae, ‘di ba?” says Marudo.

He stressed that respect should extend to everyone, not just women or people close to someone.

“Lalo na sa kahit anong form. Hindi lang naman dahil may asawa ako o may mga kapatid akong babae, hindi lang naman babae, eh, lahat ng klase ng tao sa paligid mo,” he says.

During the media conference, Marudo was also asked what he might do if a similar situation happened to his wife, actress Ria Atayde. The actor responded with humor at first, drawing laughter from those present.

“I don’t think may gagawa sa ‘kin nu’n,” says Marudo.

However, he later explained that any reaction would depend on the circumstances.

“Kung talagang mali, magre-react ka rin, ‘di ba?” he says.

He added that it is difficult to judge situations without being directly involved.

“Depende. Mahirap magsalita nang wala ka naman du’n sa posisyon na ‘yun,” says Marudo.

The actor reiterated that the key issue is respect in today’s society.

Aside from addressing the issue, Marudo also spoke about his upcoming series The Silent Noise. He revealed that he quickly accepted the project, saying the story and character were too good to pass up.

He also expressed gratitude for being among the first Filipino actors to lead a mini-series on Amazon Prime Video, which he believes will help their work reach a global audience.

Zanjoe Marudo is a Filipino actor and model who first gained public attention after joining Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 1, where he finished as the 4th Big Placer. After his reality show appearance, he steadily built a career in television and became known for his performances in several drama series. In another report, Marudo recently reacted to news about the upcoming wedding of his former girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, after marriage banns for the actress and her fiancé, Vincent Co, were reportedly announced in a Manila parish. The announcement involving the couple was shared by St. Peter the Apostle Parish. During a media conference for his latest project, the actor was asked about the development and initially appeared surprised by the question. Despite the unexpected inquiry, Marudo said he was happy for Alonzo and wished her well as she prepares for marriage.

Meanwhile, Marudo is set to appear in the upcoming Prime Video series The Silent Noise alongside Angelica Panganiban. The drama centers on a deaf son who begins to confront a long-buried family secret after a body is discovered in their town. Panganiban shared that she was drawn to the project because it gives voice to people who are searching for freedom and truth. The series is scheduled to premiere on March 20 on Amazon Prime Video in the Philippines and in more than 240 territories worldwide.
