Carlo Aquino, one of the country’s most admired actors and former child star, revealed that he once seriously considered leaving the entertainment industry.

“Mag-Amerika na lang kaya ako? Magpa-adopt ako sa uncle ko na nasa Amerika?”
Carlo Aquino said during his appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Monday, March 9. He shared that the thought of leaving showbiz first crossed his mind in the mid-2000s. While he remained active, mainly in indie films, he felt frustrated at times.
“Tapos there came a time na parang 'Bakit parang wala akong ginagawa pero sinasabi nila ang talented ko, ang galing-galing ko?'” he recalled.

Carlo even considered moving to the U.S. and taking on manual labor or fast food jobs.
“Parang 'Mag-Amerika na lang kaya ako? Magpa-adopt ako sa uncle ko na nasa Amerika? Kaya ko naman mag-manual labor, kaya ko mag-fast food,'” he admitted.
During this challenging period, the actor took on side jobs to support himself, including printing and installing tarpaulins.
“Naglalagay ako ng mga tarpaulin ng mga salon sa mga building. Kasama ko 'yung cousin ko, siya 'yung nagwe-welding,” Carlo said.
He also borrowed tools from relatives in San Juan and traveled to areas like Cavite and San Andres in Quezon to install signage.
“Maglalagay kami ng mga signages para lang makapag-provide,” he added.
Despite the hardships, Carlo decided not to pursue his plan to move abroad.
“Kasi in a way, nandidito ka para makapag bigay ng inspirasyon, 'yung makapagparamdam sa mga tao,” he said
Explaining that his love for acting and the ability to inspire others kept him in the industry.
