Former beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles has taken a major step toward finalizing her civil status in the Philippines. In an official statement shared via her Instagram story, Priscilla revealed that she filed a "Petition for Recognition of Foreign Divorce" before the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City on February 27, 2026.

The document explains that Priscilla’s application for divorce was already granted nearly a year ago, on March 31, 2025, by the First Family Court in Boa Vista, Brazil. By filing this new petition, she seeks to have that Brazilian ruling recognized and enforced under Philippine law.

Priscilla and John Estrada were married in a beautiful beach wedding in La Union back in February 2011.

However, their relationship faced public scrutiny over the years due to recurring rumors of infidelity on John's part. After much speculation, Priscilla confirmed their split in mid-2024, later revealing that she had finally chosen to put herself and her daughter first.

"After much contemplation, Priscilla decided to file this petition in order to formalize her civil status," the statement read. On a more personal note, she considers this "a significant step in her journey towards healing, closing a chapter of her life, and starting a new beginning as a single woman."

Sharing her relief with her followers, Priscilla thanked her dedicated team of lawyers at Calleja Law for their help.

"Malayo pa but malayo na," she wrote, signaling that while the legal journey continues, she has already come a long way.

Priscilla Meirelles is a Brazilian model and former beauty queen. She won Miss Globe International 2003 and later Miss Earth 2004, which was held in the Philippines. After her Miss Earth victory, she chose to reside in the Philippines. In her personal life, Priscilla married John Estrada in 2011 in San Fernando, La Union, and they have one daughter named Samantha Anechka. However, in 2025, Priscilla made headlines when she opened up about her separation from the actor after 14 years together.
