Following a week of intense public scrutiny and his arrest in a Pasay City hotel, Norman was officially transferred from police custody to the Parañaque City Jail.

The transfer was executed after the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 294 issued a formal commitment order, placing him under the management of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

This development came after the 44-year-old content creator failed to post a recommended bail of ₱120,000 for multiple counts of unjust vexation, charges filed by a fellow social media personality over a long-standing digital dispute.

However, the path to temporary liberty has become even more complex. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has filed a formal opposition to any potential bail application.

This move is tied to a separate, pending case of estafa (fraud) at the Pasay RTC. Investigators have expressed concerns over the vlogger’s history of using various aliases and allegedly falsified identification documents, including claims of multiple birth certificates and passports.

Norman, who rose to internet fame during the global health crisis for his philanthropic videos, has vocally denied the accusations.

During his presentation to the media at Camp Crame earlier this week, he expressed frustration, arguing that his current predicament is an attempt to publicly shame him.

"Unjust vexation lang ito, pero kung ipahiya ninyo ako, para akong nakapatay ng tao," he stated to reporters.

Beyond the current criminal charges, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is looking into reports that Norman unauthorizedly wore a police uniform in social media posts, an act they describe as a "mockery" of government institutions.

As he begins his residency at the Parañaque facility, authorities are also coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs to verify the authenticity of his citizenship documents.

For now, the man who once commanded a massive digital following remains behind bars as the judiciary weighs the gravity of the mounting complaints against him.

Norman Mangusin, better known by his digital alias "Francis Leo Marcos," rose to prominence through his viral "Mayaman Challenge," which focused on pandemic philanthropy. However, his career has been shadowed by serious allegations of misrepresentation and identity fraud. Recently, he faced a Supreme Court contempt fine and a 2026 arrest in Pasay for unjust vexation, highlighting the ongoing legal disputes surrounding his public persona.

It can be recalled that the high-profile digital personality, was taken into custody by CIDG agents this Tuesday morning while at a hotel in Pasay. The police action was based on a legal mandate from a Parañaque judge, following a detailed probe into the vlogger’s recent controversial online activities. Central to the case are disputed photographs of Norman; while critics question their authenticity, he maintains that the images are manipulated forgeries intended to discredit him. Top officials from both NAPOLCOM and the CIDG reiterated that the arrest underscores their commitment to holding public influencers accountable to the rule of law.
