It was a birthday celebration filled with raw and honest reflections as Gee Canlas turned emotional during a special episode of the Say Whut Podcast. Co-hosted with Abby Asistio, the duo invited their close friend, veteran actress Gladys Reyes, to join the conversation, which quickly turned into a deep heart-to-heart session.

During the episode, Gladys asked Gee what she would tell her past self from a year or two ago.

"Let go, let go, Gee. Yun talaga, let go, cause it's gonna be fine," Gee replied through tears. She added a powerful reminder to herself, saying, "You're stronger than you think you are. You're valuable, and your heart shouldn't be trampled and stepped on because you are loved and valued."

The admission follows persistent rumors that Gee and her husband, actor Archie Alemania, have parted ways. These speculations began circulating after Archie faced a controversial legal issue involving actress Rita Daniela.

Gee admitted that the past few years have been draining, confessing that she felt like she lost her sense of self.

"The past few years, naubos talaga. It came to a point na parang hindi ko na kilala yung nakikita ko sa salamin," she shared. She explained that she often used humor just to survive, adding, "I denied myself to be authentic for so long, I kept myself small."

Now, Gee is focused on setting firm boundaries, saying she now recognizes when someone trespasses her boundaries.

"Hard no. I recognize already that's trespassing my boundaries, it's disrespectful," she said about allowing others to mistreat her. "You're not allowed to do that to me, [yung] walk all over me again," she added.

Through the pain, Gee credits her son, Caleb, for keeping her going, and for the strength she has now.

"Ang motivation ko talaga is si Caleb. Yung anak ko talaga. Hindi ako makakapag-alaga, hindi ako makakapag-parent, hindi ako makakapagpalaki ng bata if hindi ako kumpleto, if hindi ako buo," she said.

Gee also expressed her deep gratitude for the friends who know her full story and have stayed by her side throughout the journey.
