To keep busy while Gerald worked as a coach, Ai-Ai started baking and selling pandesal to their local community. She later found fulfillment working as a department head in a nursing facility, where she organized daily activities for the elderly.

"Pag naaalala ko na nanginginig ako, tapos sabi ko, 'Bakit ito naging buhay ko?' pero okay lang, kasi 'Martina, pinili mo 'to, gusto mo mag-asawa, ganun talaga, pag nag-asawa ka, susundin mo yung asawa mo," she shared.

"Gusto ko maging artista pa rin all the way ng buong buhay ko. I think dun ako nag-e-excel, and I think dun ako masaya, maging artista, maging komedyante, magpasaya ng mga Pilipino," she reflected.
