Kapuso star Glaiza De Castro has officially broken her silence regarding the online buzz involving her husband, David Rainey, and actress Maris Racal. The issue stemmed from a viral clip taken during the premiere night of the film Unmarry back in December 2025, where netizens noticed David intently looking at Maris while she was speaking on stage.

The interaction, which some social media users quickly labeled as "malicious," led to comments warning Glaiza to keep a close eye on her husband. During a recent guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Glaiza set the record straight, explaining that the moment was nothing more than a case of stage awkwardness.
Glaiza shared that she immediately showed the trending video to David to see his reaction. “Sabi ko, 'You're trending.' Sabi niya, 'What? Bloody hell.' Gumano’n lang siya. Actually, hindi po talaga siya sanay sa public,” she laughed. She admitted that the entire situation on stage felt clumsy because they were originally just there to support her close friend, Angelica Panganiban.
“It was so awkward kasi magkahawak po kami ng kamay habang papunta kami sa stage,” Glaiza recalled. “So ang iniisip ko, 'Ano ba? Sabihin ko ba sa kaniya na pupunta muna ako sa stage, ako muna, tapos mag-wait ka na lang.'” Because events move so quickly, she decided to bring David up with her. When Maris Racal and Kean Cipriano were also called to the stage, David found himself in a spot where he didn't know where to look.

Glaiza explained that since Maris was the one talking at the time, it was only natural for David to look at the speaker. “So, syempre, ang tendency ni David parang, 'Anong gagawin ko rito?' Hindi naman din po siya kinakausap. Kumbaga, parang wala namang nagtanong sa kanya... So no'ng time na nagsasalita si Maris, of course, tumitingin siya kay Maris. So iyon 'yong explanation,” she added.
The actress admitted that the negative comments—including those suggesting David had a "tendency to cheat"—bothered her enough to consult her mother and her niece. However, her family advised her to just "dedma" or ignore the trolls, as people would always find something to invent.
Glaiza and David, an Irish businessman, married in a Celtic ceremony in Northern Ireland in 2021 before having a second wedding in the Philippines in 2023. Known for their low-key and adventurous relationship, the couple continues to prove that their bond is stronger than any viral trend.
The couple’s solid relationship has always been a point of admiration for fans, especially during milestones where David shows his unwavering support for Glaiza's career.
To celebrate their third "Filipino anniversary" in January 2026, David Rainey posted a heartfelt message for Glaiza on Instagram. He shared photos from their beach wedding in Zambales, expressing how he still feels like the luckiest man alive to be her husband. The post, which included the sweet Tagalog line "Isasayaw kita, hanggang sa walang hanggan," touched the hearts of many followers.
Glaiza recently traveled to the Netherlands for the world premiere of her documentary film 58th at the 2026 International Film Festival Rotterdam. The actress portrayed Reynafe Castillo in the film, which revisits the stories of the families affected by the Maguindanao Massacre. She shared her immense pride in bringing such a powerful Filipino story to an international audience, noting how the experience was both nerve-wracking and fulfilling.
