AJ recalled the immediate panic in the delivery room when Aljur Jr. was born premature as a "blue baby." Because his lungs were not fully developed, his condition was deemed critical, requiring an urgent transfer to another hospital.
"In the delivery room, for a moment, we lost him. I did not know what to do. His lungs were not fully developed. The doctors said his condition was critical and that he needed to be transferred to another hospital. I was scared all I could do was pray," AJ admitted, sharing that she didn't ask for explanations but simply begged for a "life extension" for her newborn.
The trauma of the moment became so intense that AJ lost consciousness at one point.

"I saw the doctors performing CPR to revive my baby. After that I do not remember anything, I lost consciousness," she wrote.
When she finally woke up in the recovery room, her first thought was for her baby, only to be told he had been moved to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The mother and son remained separated for days while he stayed in the ICU, a period AJ described as "heavy and quiet."
"That experience changed me in ways I cannot explain. When you come that close to losing someone you realize how small everything else is," AJ shared.
