Filipino singer-songwriter and It's Showtime host Ogie Alcasid recently took to Instagram to share a poignant "core memory" involving his late father, Herminio Alcasid Sr.. The post features a group photo from 2016 showing Ogie alongside his father, mother, and other family members on a street in Tokyo.

According to the well-known singer, the 2016 trip was particularly significant because his father had not visited Japan in over three decades.

"Dad has never returned to Japan since the 80's I believe and we made sure he would be able to go back," Ogie wrote in his caption. He expressed gratitude that they were able to make the trip happen, concluding his message with a simple, "Miss you Dad."

Herminio Alcasid Sr. passed away in September 2020, a loss that the OPM singer previously mourned on social media at the time. His father was a respected lawyer and a former board member of the PNOC Development and Management Corp.
