Actress Jodi Sta. Maria recently shared why education has remained a central part of her life, even after decades of success in the entertainment industry.

Speaking on the "KC After Hours" podcast hosted by Karmina Constantino, Jodi reflected on how her love for learning began at home and continues to guide her personal and professional journey.

Jodi recalled that the importance of education was deeply ingrained in her by her grandmother during childhood.

She explained, “As a child, it was something that my grandmother really instilled in me and my brother — how important education is, how important parang gathering or learning new things is, kasi that is something that cannot be taken from you.”

She emphasized that while material possessions may be lost, knowledge remains a lasting tool that can help shape one’s future.

The actress also stressed that education, like any meaningful goal, demands discipline and action.

She noted, “Of course, all of us have goals in life but then some particular goals hindi naman pwedeng wishful thinking lang, makakarating ka dun.”

According to Jodi, learning plays a crucial role in turning aspirations into reality.

Despite her busy career, Jodi admitted that her desire to finish school never faded.

She shared, “The yearning never left. It has always been there.” Returning to school later in life brought her fulfillment, especially when circumstances finally aligned.

In 2021, Jodi graduated at 39 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

“Success comes to those who want it, and sometimes you have to ask yourself 'how much do I want this?'”

She credited faith and perseverance for helping her overcome challenges during her academic journey.

As of August 2025, Jodi revealed that she was close to completing her master’s degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy.

She also took the opportunity to express her admiration and support for Judy Ann, calling her a blessing to the people around her.

In another update, Jodi marked a personal milestone in 2025 as her son, Thirdy Lacson, turned 20. The proud mom posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, reflecting on her journey of watching him grow into a young adult. She referred to Thirdy as one of her life’s greatest blessings and shared a collection of photos ranging from his childhood to recent moments.
