Megastar Sharon Cuneta took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she celebrated almost 48 years in the entertainment industry, expressing gratitude to her devoted fan base known as the Sharonians.

In an Instagram post, Sharon shared a fan-made video and opened up about the humble beginnings of her storied career, which started when she was still a young student.
“Happy Anniversary to my Sharonians!” Sharon expressed.
“Forty-eight years ago, our driver picked me up from St. Paul College Pasig where I was in 6th Grade.”

She recalled that the unexpected trip from school led her straight to Vicor Music Corp., following a request made by her uncle, then Senate President Tito Sotto.
“He said that (my uncle, second father) now Senate President Tito Sotto had asked my Dad to have me brought straight from school that day to Vicor Music Corp., where he was VP of Production,” she said.
Sharon also revealed that it took a year before she agreed to record her first song after her uncle heard her sing at a family gathering.
“I had waited a whole year, since he heard me sing at one of my parents’ parties at our home, and then asked me if I wanted to make records,” Sharon added.
She shared that the first song presented to her was “Tawag ng Pag-ibig,” which eventually became her debut single.
“When I entered his office, he played me a demo of a song on cassette tape,” she said.
She later recorded “MR. D.J.,” written by Rey Valera, which became one of the defining songs of her career.
Reflecting on her journey, Sharon credited God and her supporters for her lasting success.
“God has blessed me with an only-He-could’ve-given unbelievable career,” she expressed.
